Last year, there were 10 "incomplete" grades district-wide.
This year, there are 5,505 incomplete grades.
There are serious problems with the grading system at District 201
JS Morton students want high standards and a fair grading system that will accurately measure what a student has learned. We want the Board of Education and administrators to take immediate action to correct the flaws in the new grading system.
Elgin uses an equal interval grading scale too. Guess what? Students and parents are experiencing the same problems as Morton!
Just when you thought the grading problems at Morton couldn't get any worse....
Last year, Morton students skipped dozens of assignments, exams, and entire units of study and still managed to pass their classes...thanks to the equal interval grading system. In order to "correct" that problem, the Administration introduced a new initiative that made the problem even worse. This year, students who are showing an "A" in Skyward might still receive a failing grade in the class.
